McCain's approach is just going to allow people to use the cash tax break to go spend it on TVs and other things. People will not be disiplined enough to put it back into their health insurance costs. Kind of like the stimulis check we received from Bush.

I hear what you are saying about give me $5,000 Bud L. Do you think you would still be asking for $5,000 if you couldn't obtain health coverage due to a history of Cancer? I would think not.

What would a tax credit do for someone who makes $15 an hour and can't pay their premium? Tax credits are for people that are wealthy...

Obama’s plan will reduce a typical family’s premium by up to $2,500 by
reducing costs, improving technology, and reigning in the power of insurance companies.

McCain's approach: "While still having the option of employer-based coverage, every family will receive a direct refundable tax credit - effectively cash - of $2,500 for individuals and $5,000 for families to offset the cost of insurance."

Give me the $5,000
