Americans Do Not Want Mandatory Insurance
According to the Consumer Watchdog, when American’s were polled about the issue of mandatory insurance, less than one in five were in favor of this measure. Participants were told that there would be no limit to the amount insurers could charge and that they would be responsible for some of the premium. Even with insurance regulations in place to limit the amount insurers could charge, only one in three were supportive of this idea. Senator Max Baucus had claimed that Americans would be overwhelmingly in favor of mandatory insurance, but these results would strongly suggest otherwise. What do you think of the results of the poll versus the senator’s claim?
