Obesity affects health insurance
A rising problem in the US is obesity. This disease is not only extremely dangerous it is very expensive. According to a new study medical spending averages $1,500 more per year for an obese person than a person with normal weight. This study proves that the overall obesity related to health care spending reaches $150 billion; this is twice as much than a decade ago. How will this affect the new health insurance plan? The higher medical expenses are paying for the treatment of the side effects of obesity such as diabetes and heart disease. According to health economists if we do not address and solve obesity we are never going to be able to address rising health care insurance costs. What are your thoughts on obesity?
